PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) –
The newest medical marijuana dispensary in Portland, Shango Dispensary, opened its doors Thursday.
The dispensary is located in the Windy Corner Shopping Complex near Portland International Airport. This is the second Shango location in Portland, the first opened more than a month ago in Southeast Portland.
Shango co-founder, Shane McKee, says his shops set a new standard for marijuana related business.
McKee believes it is important for businesses like his to remove the stigma that is frequently associated with marijuana-related products.
“I’d like it to be a place that I would bring my mother, my father and have them feel comfortable, not like they are doing something wrong,” McKee said.
The Portland Business Alliance took part in Thursday’s ribbon cutting ceremony.
